A paternity action may be filed by a woman who is pregnant or has a child, by the putative father of the child, or by any child in order to determine the paternity of that child when legal paternity has yet to be established.  In addition to establishing legal paternity over a child, the court may also address issues such as child support, time-sharing, health insurance for the child, decision making authority over the child, visitation, parenting plans, and payment of attorney’s fees.
